Smartsite

Amersfoort City Council now has a mobile website

Everyone with an internet-enabled mobile phone can now consult the Amersfoort council website much more easily. Several components of the site have been made suitable for the mobile user, such as news, activities and roadworks announcements. No separate URL is necessary: the mobile website will open automatically if you use your phone to access www. amersfoort.nl.

The site is part of a test programme intended to find out how the council can reach mobile internet users. The city of Amersfoort is increasingly contacted via the council website, which is a development that fits with the city’s ambition to offer more council products and services digitally.

Components

Digital services have now been expanded by making several components of the website suitable for mobile internet users. These components are: news, activities, road construction announcements, neighbourhood reporting centre and contact information. Mobile web applications are more compact, to make them quicker.

Roadworks

One of the components is the route planner information. The Amersfoort mobile website now enables users to be well-informed on their journeys from A to B in the city. Up-to-date roadworks announcements will be shown. Mobile users are now able to consult this information at all times and in all locations so that they can inform themselves before and during their trip about roadworks.
